What Is KinderConnect Used For?
Depending on configuration and agency preferences, providers can:
• Submit attendance information online via a web-page
• Print sign-in sheets for the children in their care for licensing and signature requirements
• Print attendance summary sheets after the attendance period is complete
• Review the status of their payments
• Download provider statements
• Download KinderTrack attendance sheets
• Use biometric devices (finger scan technology) to have parents sign in
• Submit attendance from their center software system (once approved) directly
Why Do Agencies Need KinderConnect?
Agencies that manage subsidized childcare programs are challenged with efficiently processing provider payments. This process usually involves creating and mailing hardcopy attendance sheets for each child, receiving those back after the attendance period, and then manually processing them.
Processing is often a time-consuming task that requires a caseworker to manually enter the attendance for each day of care. KinderConnect allows agencies to collect attendance information from childcare providers directly over the Internet.
Even agencies that do not submit attendance online, perhaps because their state does not yet permit it, or because a signature on paper is still required, can download their KinderTrack attendance sheets from KinderConnect, saving the agency printing and mailing costs every month.
Another common problem is authenticating parents and preventing fraud. If finger scanners are used to verify the presence of the parent at the childcare provider, the possibility of fraud is greatly reduced.
By allowing providers to look up the payment status by child, the agency eliminates many phone calls from providers inquiring about their payments.
In the conventional process, agencies send checks along with provider statements which show the payment details pertaining to the checks. Provider statements are printed per provider and then collated with checks, so they can be mailed together. If the provider can view the statements online, there is no need to mail them, saving the agency much paper, printing and postage costs, in addition to staff time collating checks with statements.
What Reports Come with KinderConnect?
KinderConnect includes comprehensive reports that enable agencies to track the attendance and services for all centers. Authorized timesheets can be printed and signed by parents and providers for audit purposes. Protective services reports allow administrators to see if at risk children are absent during scheduled periods.
How Secure is KinderConnect?
KinderConnect is secured behind hardware firewalls and employs the same encryption technology that banks use to ensure the security of their data. Program access is controlled by login rights, which allows providers to see only the children authorized for care at their center. System administrators can review attendance and services for all centers at a glance.
